A lot of things of changed for me the last couple of years.  To make a long story short, I’m now retired.  I now do things that I want to do instead of making and creating things to sell.   I’ve spent the last year or so trying to figure out what I want to do with myself.  I’ve spent a lot of time playing online games….reading up on current events…and staying away from all the weirdness in the world.  I did a social media detox, it was the best thing I ever did.
My retirement was supposed to coincide with a move from the Midwest to the Galveston Island-Bay area.  Then hurricane Harvey hit and the uncertainly of flood insurance created too many uncertainties for a cross country move. We also figured out that moving during hurricane season can cause a few issues.  So we put off moving until spring of 2018.  It’s only a few months, that’s what I keep telling myself.  We are resilient and there’s always a reason, things will work out.  We are shifting our priorities.
The downsizing and sale prep work had already started.  Recently, because of the move timing, we have slowed down.
So as I evolve, my blog will or maybe it won’t.  Does anybody, except me, still read blogs?  I’m deciding if I care or not…

But for the time being...
I'm reading the Chronicles of Elantra Series by Michelle Sagara.  So far there are fourteen books in the series, I'm on book twelve.

Back to Beading Again...peyote 2-drop pattern...E hook pattern

Saturday, February 11, 2017
I'm back to beading again. It's been a while and I'm having to relearn everything.  That's OK, it keeps me off social media right now.  I don't have the patience and my nice button is still on the blink.  I'll be back in a month or so, I keep putting it off but I doubt Trump is going anywhere soon.  I needed some time off for my sanity.  It seems that Facebook is mostly political (not a bad thing) or people selling things.  I'm currently grumpy and not selling so I'm hiding in my beady laird.  Beady people are happy people...but I also know I can't stay in my laird forever.

Here's the pattern for the above bracelet.  I had a quest of creating  a very wearable bracelet.  I love a lot of the patterns and designs out there but they are either too fu-fu or wide for daily wear.  My lifestyle involves my hands with painting, sketching, and photography I do. So I wanted an easy to wear design that laid flat on the wrist.  I also wanted a design that was easy to put on.  The bracelet is also only 3/4 of an inch wide. I worked the pattern up in 11/0 delicas.

The clasp is called "E Hook" clasp, it's only 20mm wide and made by TierraCast.  I've had a lot of metal allergies in the past but this doesn't make me itch after a couple of weeks.  Yippy skippy!!!!

My wrist is about 7 inches and that's what this pattern is designed for.  You can alter it to your wrist size or the type of clasp you want to use.

Have fun with it...laters....

First Sketch of 2017

Sunday, January 01, 2017
I've been cleaning up my studio and things are everywhere.  Isn't that the way all cleaning and organizing project start?

So it was a digital's the first sketch of 2017.  I used my iPad and Apple Pencil, love both of these.  My appreciation of technology grows by the day.

My to go to drawing and painting app is Procreate.  This image I also uploaded to cloud so I could finish it off in Photoshop.

I like the image but it started out as a idea for a painting.  I'll print this to see how well it I like it.  I might be done or I'll add it to the 'to be painted' pile.

Have a Happy New Year and welcome to 2017....
