It's that time of year again...Lampwork Earring Pair Frenzy

Tuesday, March 31, 2009

Earring Pairs, originally uploaded by Moon Stumpp.

Yep, it's just about show season again. Every spring...when the buds are blooming and the grass starts be coming a carpet of green...I'm in my torcher chamber making earring pairs. So while Spring and Fall are my favorite seasons...they both bright a frenzy of work for me.

Once I get some designed...I'll post more pictures.

Currently I'm working on the ongoing Curmudgeons Series. I recently made some jewelry with Curmudgeons and they turned out gorgeous, if I do say so myself. So, again, once I get pics...I'll post them to. to do errands and then back to work.

Have a happy, creative day!

More lampwork...Yeah, I'm still Alive and Kicking

Monday, March 30, 2009

It's been kinda busy around seems that I never have enough time to get things done. I'm gearing up for my Spring and Summer that takes lots of inventory and figuring out what I'm doing. Geez, sometimes it kinda sucks being self-employed. Anyway...Im in the process of playing with all sorts of new color designs...on the torch. Now at the bench, I'll some new pic soon.

The beads are from my Curmudgeons Series. These are calledDali Garden-Set III. I love torching these beads...they are very complex when it comes to a surface design but the colors flow together to create a set.

Ok...gotta run...lots to do!
Have a happy, creative day!

New Lampwork Series...Fractals Series-Mojo Pink

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

Fractals Series-Mojo Pink, originally uploaded by Moon Stumpp.

These beads are highly colorful and have complex geometrical surface design. It’s a mix of art, color, and math. Each bead is unique but the set flows together like water in a tidal pool. They are kinda like a slice of kaleidoscope frozen in time (in bead form). This set is one of my favs that I've made in black, pink, fuchsia, lime, purple, violet, electric blue, sky blue, and orange.

I have made a few pieces of jewelry from this series already and it's a keeper series. They are intense flares of color and pattern that goes soooo well with sterling.

Ok...I'm off...until the next bat time!

Orange (lampwork) Beady Dudes

Monday, March 23, 2009

Orange Beady Dudes, originally uploaded by Moon Stumpp.

Just a quickie note to let everyone know I'm still alive and kicking. I'm in the process of working in my Etsy shop, that has been saddly neglected.

The orange beadset is already up on Etsy...handing out with all the other beady dudes. It's a party, come on over.

Have a great day,

Spring Green...New Lampwork

Sunday, March 22, 2009

Spring Green, originally uploaded by Moon Stumpp.

Yeah, I've been busy at the torch. Got lots to show ya...after I get the pictures processes. I love this odd lot green, which is hard to find now. I've still got some in my stash but once it's gone, it's gone. The green is like Gaffer veiled glass and melts as smooth as butter.

Lots to do today...same bat time, same bat place...

Drive By....Cobbles

Saturday, March 21, 2009
I've been playing with a new design shape...they look great when made up into jewelry. Plus they wear comfortably. Which is a major point.

New design for 2009...Cobbles...lots of color in a sleek bracelet design.

Have a GREAT day...I'm off to the another interesting idea.

Lots of Lampwork...Studio Update

Thursday, March 19, 2009
I've been really busy on the torch the last couple of days. I've been busy at my bench too. It seems like I'm kinda working two jobs. I've been playing with lots of new color combos. During my glass melting spree...I found that I'm out of a lot of glass. I've been lazy ordering in more/new glass. I finally took the plunge. It's not like I don't love getting in glass...I don't like the time it takes to figure out what I need/want/lust for. Plus getting ready to move the studio (again), I really didn't want more to lug up and down stairs. Oh well....such as the plans of mice and men.

The above beads were a joy to make...I really like how they turned out. The below...well, were a total PITA to make but they made into a hoppin' bracelet. The colors are so much cleaner and crisper in hand than in the pic.

The below is a double experiment...chainmaille and lampwork plus a new series of lampwork that I'm working on. It's called Fractals. I love the beads...the patterns are unique to each bead...they are a challenge to make (which actually translates to they can be a real bitch to make) because I use spreading opaque glass stringers. Too much heat....the beads are one color or muddy. Not enough heat...they are blah, no zing. I will have some of the Fractals on Etsy pretty soon....but I'm keeping most of them. :-)
The below is a BRIGHT color combo from my Color Gizmos series. They are much brighter than the picture...the pink is's a handmix of different pinks.

I love this set...these took forever to make to get the right mix of color and unique designs.

There's another one from the Color Gizmos series. The red here looks kinda dark but it isn't.

Now these are OMG, I Need SUNGLASSES bright. They turned out GREAT. Just what I was going for.

Now for the studio studio will be ready vacant around the end of April!!!! Hey!!!! I'm hoping to get it painted and moved in by the second week of May. Just in time to work my way though summer. :-)
. I go...Got lots to do.
Have a happy, creative day!

Lampwork Necklace

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

This is part of my Spring 2009 'Everyday Wear' line. Again, I'm still on a sleek, non-fu-fu design of jewelry. The chain was hand forged by me. Speaking of handmade of the Zen type things I do is make chain. Some people drink or indulge in some sort of activity, I make chain. It's kinda peaceful to take wire, cut it, clean it, then build a chain link by link.

I normally use my big girl's torch for bezels and cuffs but for chain making, it's a little butane torch. It's light and has s precision flame that doesn't smell up the place like some of the other fuels. It's not a super hot torch but it does the job.

Ya know, everyone has something they do...I made chain. ;-)

Have a great day...I'm on the torch today, playing with new color combos.

New Lampwork Necklace

Monday, March 09, 2009

I'm still working with lots of pink glass. It's really mixing well with orange...if I'm careful. If I'm not looks muddy. So far, so good. Here's a new pieces that I designed for the trunk show. Lots of dots...clean and sleek design that showcases the lampwork beads. I'm really enjoying working with mainly sterling and glass.

Have a wonderful day,

Getting in Gear for Spring...lampwork earring pairs

Friday, March 06, 2009
Well it was warm yesterday with sunny's beginning to feel alot like spring (as sung to the popular Christmas tune). :-) I've been working with bright colors again...the below are already sold but you can get the idea.
I'm finding that I'm really enjoying the bright hued beads both torching them and designing jewelry. Again, color is the reason why I got into lampworking in the first place.

OK...lots to do...I'm getting ready for a trunk show tomorrow so I've got some jewelry to clean and pack up.
Have a happy, creative day!

Eye Candy...lots of new lampwork beadsets

Wednesday, March 04, 2009
I've got sunshine everyone!!!! A miracle has occured and you have know idea how good it is.
Yeah, I must sound a bit over excited over a sunny day but hey, it's been a while.

The above are some of the simpler, sleeker designs from my "Everyday" line. BTW, the above are some that I made fore myself.
Now for the eye candy...

I love how these (above and below) turned out. They are springy patels and the base glass are opals. I can picture these with a bunch of Czech flower beads as fringe for a spring-summer type of bracelet.

More beady keens...

This set is actually made from some lovely glass too. Again, it's the opal.

I liked how the focal turned out for this set. It's a handshaped teardrop....great as a focal pendant or for tassels.

These are just plain fun...I will be making somre of this design later. They always work up into bright, happy day jewelry.

These also turned out well...I used an ocher and a very odd shade of orange wit the blues...the beads will also mixed with with natural stones.

These are sunglasses bright. I have to admit, they do look kewler in hand than in the pictures. I love the contrast between the bright pink and orange. It's always a winner.

Here's more....

That's it for the pictures...I'm off to up load on Etsy.
Have a happy, creative day!]

New Mini Series...Lots of new lampwork beadsets

Sunday, March 01, 2009
This is a drive by blogger's the eye candy. :-)

It's not that I'm just super busy and don't have time to post...I just don't have much to say today.
